Spears, who has been under a legal conservatorship since 2008, celebrated the victory, although she said she has “a lot of healing to do.” In the meantime, she will remain under a temporary conservatorship, until another hearing on ending the conservatorship entirely this November.

The New York State legislature passed a bill that extends the state’s moratorium on residential evictions until January 15, 2022. The bill extends the pre-existing eviction moratorium, which has been in effect since March, 2020.
