Ari Katzap joined the firm in October of 2023, as an Associate in our Landlord Tenant Department. Mr. Katzap is an accomplished litigator, focusing on landlord/tenant, foreclosure, and various property disputes. He is admitted to practice in federal and state courts throughout New York and New Jersey. He has extensive experience in all phases of litigation and over the course of his career has successfully represented a diverse clientele in a broad range of complex business and real estate matters.
Mr. Katzap’s assists clients with Landlord/Tenant matters, including but not limited to, responding to petitions for Holdover, Non-Payment, foreclosures, and representing clients in foreclosure proceedings, short sales, and various administrative proceedings. Additionally, Mr. Katzap is also an accomplished transactional attorney who has represented clients with the sale, purchase, or transfer of residential and commercial property, as well as representing lenders.
Mr. Katzap prides himself on bringing a passionate approach to every matter and providing every client with individualized attention. Mr. Katzap was named to Super Lawyers as one of the “Rising Stars” of 2019 due to his professional work ethic, knowledge of the law, and advocacy on behalf of his clients.
Mr. Katzap graduated from New York Law School and ran his own office in NYC for several years representing clients in Civil, Supreme, and Federal Courts, before joining the New York City Housing Authority (“NYCHA”) as an Assistant Corporate Counsel/Assistant Chief of the Contract Scope Unit. Prior to becoming a member of the Bar, Mr. Katzap worked as staff at some of the nation’s premier defense and class action law firms, including but not limited to, Sidley Austin, LLP, and Bernstein Liebhard, LLP.
Mr. Katzap is fluent in Hebrew, conversational Russian, and when not in the office, enjoys spending time with his family and playing the drums.
Admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States District Court in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the State of New Jersey, and the United States District Court of New Jersey.
